Hi,

I am about to purchase this stereo (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2Di...45.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.263.1wbXAZ) for my car.

I have a 2006 Audi A3 S-Line with Bose - I currently have the original double din symphony stereo.

I have seen people having sound issues with installations of aftermarket stereos.

What additional parts/cables will I need to buy to make sure this stereo functions perfectly?

Thanks.

If you have Bose then you'll probably need RCA suppressors and if you have a multifunction steering wheel you may need a head unit specific interface cable. I'm also looking into this for my motor.

Unsure as that's an 8L install. I'm by no means knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff but for the head unit I'm looking at I know I need a multifunction wheel harness and the issue most people have with aftermarket units on Bose systems is the low volume noise which is usually rectified with the use of RCA suppressors. Just thought I'd pass that on to you as it's something that's usually overlooked.

Don't buy that stereo - it's dimensions mean that you will struggle to fit it into a standard Double-Din cage. Spend a little extra and get one of the units that were designed to fit an 8P Audi. Trust me, I've made the same mistake with a similar unit before.

For a bit extra, you can get a decent fit and something that does not look out of place. Check these out: http://xtrons.co.uk/head-units/custom-special-car/car-make-a-k/audi.html

For noise suppression, try http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RCA-Noise...8&clk_rvr_id=1097137778577&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true It suppresses much of the noise and gives a bit more bass to the rear too.

For more details on these units see http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/android-rns-e.248150/

I'd recommend Android 5-based units as they perform better and add a few OS features missing in 4.

Thanks for your help mate.

I've been reading around and people say that you need all of this to install aftermarket stereos?

How true is this, and can I get these parts cheaper indiviudally?

If someone could name all the parts there that would be useful - I'm clueless.

The Android units that are intended for Audis come with 95% of what you need. Just the noise filter should be the only thing you would need in addition to that. All of the parts you need are listed on the thread I linked.

Those noise filters came with my Dynavin head unit, but I couldn't figure out how to connect them up!

After not getting many pointers on here I bought these cheap on Amazon, they're just in-line filters and they worked a treat with no wiring :)

WTF I can't add a url to my post? Anyway search for "AV Link Ground Loop Isolator " on Amazon..!

Pretty sure I posted instructions on the thread on how to wire the filter up.

The isolators work fine, but they are bulky and filter lower frequencies, so you lose bass through the rear speakers.
