Good evening all,

I had my 1.9tdi A3 8P's MOT and service down at the dealers today (they gave me a 66 plate A4 Avant 2.0tfsi as a courtesy car - was smiling all the way to work!). Although it passed everything, I was advised the mechanics noticed it was "noisy under load, possible bearing noise".

When I asked the guy about it, he couldn't really elaborate on the type of noise it was generating. Does anyone know what sort of noise this could be referring to, so I can look out for it?

It's an 07 plate, so it's not exactly as smooth or quiet as a newer model. I've noticed an intermittent whining noise when I press the accelerate from having my foot off the pedal but still in gear. There also used to be an intermittent 'buzzing noise' coming from the front of the dash area when I would accelerate hard and just under 2000rpm, but this hasn't happened for a long while and I don't expect it was this they heard.

Grateful for any input.

*On the plus side, Peterborough Audi gave me a stellar service today.
