So as I said in my previous thread I'm having some suspected Turbo issues where the car burns huge amounts of oil out of the exhaust and turbo area on overrun but only when the oil is up to temp. I decided it was very likely a problem with the turbo so I'm talking it out of the car. After inspecting the hot-side I noticed that there wasn't a bolt in the turbo bracket (http://i.imgur.com/zeZRihW.jpg)

This tells me the turbo's been out of the car already and maybe the issue lies with whatever way it was installed, as there is no issues until the oil is fully up to temp so I'd be doubtful there is anything major wrong with the turbo itself.

What would you guys suggest I check when I have to turbo out? I'm thinking maybe crush washers weren't used/torqued properly as there is oil all over the turbo housing and the area around the turbo.

This is the guide I'm using to take the turbo out http://frankenturbo.com/web-content/image_hosting/K04-install.pdf Let me know if you guys think there's a better way of doing it.

I'm all ears.

Thanks.

is the stud of the turbo bracket missing bolt still in the engine block - I think they are commonly cut off after being seized? maybe the turbo was replaced and has a problem or as you say the oil pipes are leaking can you no try to nip them up in situ to see if it stops leaking? or maybe the new turbo is cracked?

I'm not expert but nearly ever turbo for sale says that all the connecting supply lines, oil pump and oil pickup should be changed at the same time to stop the new turbo breaking.

when I had the head off my car I was tempted to buy a service kit, but again was put off by the recommended oil lines etc required to be changed.
