1. I will.Let us know how it goes. What software version do you have? Did you quote them the part number mentioned?
We'll have to see what occurs on Friday. I'm keeping an open mind.Very surprised the dealer you dealt with knew what he was talking about.
Never seen 0170 software version before. Hopefully the 0192 software update fixes it for you though. Very surprised the dealer you dealt with knew what he was talking about. The ones I've dealt with have told me there isn't an update and made up stories about B&O removing it on purpose even though its there on newer ones.
Igooch, what version is yours? I'm guessing 0875.
Well. The plot thickens. I took my car in to Listers in Worcester as advertised above and two things happened, apart from me wasting quite a lot of time:
Thing one. Audi are (apparently) aware of the issue of the tone controls not holding their settings, and according to the factory, a fix for that is in the pipeline.
As soon as it appears at the end of the pipeline, they (Listers) will fire off a maroon and I'll take the car in to have the fix applied.
Thing two. And this is where it gets odd. As others in this thread have reported, apparently there is no fix for the missing subwoofer adjustment in the MMI sound settings. I'm aware that there is a danger of me overusing the word 'apparently' in this context, so I'll try not to.
Apparently, facelift cars with a subwoofer and built between date X and date Y do not. have the facility to adjust the subwoofer. My car falls between those dates, as do several belonging to contributors to this and the not unrelated B&O thread.
I don't know what date X is. For all I know it might be the date of the facelift. I don't know what date Y is either, though anecdotal evidence suggests that it was before April this year. I base this (perhaps erroneously) on the Youtube video of a facelift 8V with. the subwoofer control which was posted in April, and there are posts on here from others who have taken delivery recently and who do. have this ruddy subwoofer control.
I didn't get an awful lot of help from the service people in Worcester. They were courteous enough, but (it seemed to me) rather too ready to trot out the usual corporate platitudes, including one about it possibly being a different subwoofer in my car (and those of others similarly affected) which didn't 'allow for the adjustment'.
I don't buy that, at least not without some considerable convincing.
We may be heading further into the realms of semantics than might be prudent here, but in my owners manual it says, and I quote (pp310-311):
'Subwoofer. You can adjust the subwoofer by turning the rotary pushbutton.'
No, I can't.
I appreciate the caveat at the start of that section which says 'The settings depend on the equipment fitted in your vehicle', but the equipment in my vehicle consists in part of a subwoofer, so I infer from the above that I should be able to adjust it.
Audi in MK agree with all this, and have said that they will get back to me. I'm not holding my breath.
What I'd be really interested to know is if there is anyone here with a facelift - and subwoofer-equipped - car built between the facelift introduction date and November last year who has the subwoofer adjustment in the MMI, and likewise if there is there anyone with a similarly-equipped car built in the first four months of 2017 who also has it.
I suppose what I'm after doing is narrowing down the date range of the affected cars, and, ultimately, whether I - or we - can get anything done about it.
What that anything comprises isn't really my concern. I'd like my car to do what it says it should. I'd like my car to do what pre-facelift subwoofer-equipped cars could do, and I'd like my car to do what recently-built subwoofer-equipped cars can do.
It isn't a massive thing, it really isn't; some unfortunate people have much, much more important things to deal with than things like this.
Having said that, the distraction of a bit of relatively trivial detective work isn't entirely unwelcome in light of recent news elsewhere :-(
.
The facts:
I have FL S3 with Audi Sound System with sd-card navigation.
I HAD pre-historic software version 0148 until this morning and NO subwoofer adjustment.
I NOW have 0192 software version (updated just today).
I still DON'T have subwoofer adjustment.
SH*T.
Thanks.I'm afraid it sounds exactly like I got told. You got told another made up story too with them saying its a different subwoofer. Date X would be the facelift date, pre-facelift cars had the subwoofer controls. Date Y I think is around Jan 2017, I'm pretty sure there are some 66 plate cars with the subwoofer control. It's exactly how I feel like, its a very minor thing but its something we should have. Why should we get punished, however small it is, for buying our cars a few months earlier than others? From what I know, all the parts are the same.

It might help that Mr Ohms has the same issue with an A4, because fairly obviously it's an issue affecting other models too. I say it might help, because the more people who have this problem the greater the chances of somebody at Audi taking it seriously, but only if those peeps can ring Audi UK and make them aware of it.
It isn't satisfactory, and it's made all the more galling by being spun some dismissive dealership cobblers about why the woofer control isn't available.
Ring them up, fellers. In my experience, bitching to the dealer doesn't achieve much, especially if what happened today was anything to go by. I made a point of asking if they would raise this with Audi UK themselves, and got what can only be described as a politician's answer.
A lone voice crying in the wilderness achieves less than ****** all, but if as many of us who are irked by this can direct their ire towards the same place, we might just get the message across.

Don't hope that somebody else will sort it. Call 'em yourselves and make your displeasure known.

Mr Ohms, read through this thread https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4...tertainment-options-summarized-2898830/page9/I have an A4 Allroad (2017 model) - I have the *** and no Sub setting. Would love to get it, though. Unsure what my software version is, but i'll certainly check it out. Does anyone know if the A3 & A4 models share the same software numbers..?

I had a long conversation with Audi UK about this a few minutes ago. Like half an hour long.
It was very useful to understand their modus operandi. in cases like this.
As far as my car is concerned, they have raised the issue internally having agreed that:
a)I am missing an advertised feature that my car should have, according to the manual. I mentioned this a few posts above.
b)The car has been to a dealership to have this specific problem investigated.
The second bit is important. Audi take no notice of what's written on forums. That's no surprise; although most of the things which bother forum users are very real to them, to Audi they are anecdotal and that's all.
So for a problem to be taken seriously - with a view to rectification, clearly - the car has to be assessed by an 'Audi Centre'. Nothing will happen unless that happens first.
The more people who raise this with Audi UK customer services the better, but...
You must have been to the dealer first and have had this particular issue investigated.
How you were treated there, like if, in your opinion, you were 'fobbed off' with some excuse or other (as I was) is a separate thing, although obviously an equally irritating one.
For them to say (as it was in my case) that because the manual is 'generic' (their word), a feature mentioned isn't necessarily going to be there is a crock.
If you have a facelift A3 (or whatever else) with a subwoofer, and the book says you can adjust that subwoofer using the rotary dial, you should be able to.
Period.
The chap at Audi UK was massively helpful and sympathetic. He'd have to be to put up with me bending his ear for that length of time. He said he'd get back to me later in the week, and I've no reason to doubt that he will.
I get the distinct impression that there is no fix for this at present, and that the reason for this is that Audi simply aren't aware of their own 'mis-build'.
Yet.
On the face of it that would seem surprising in view of what's on here and sundry other forums here and abroad, but Audi don't look at them, and that's where by far the greatest numbers of people complaining about it are.
Cut out those people who have the issue but haven't taken it to the dealer, and the number becomes a lot. smaller.
Remove the people who did take it but when the dealership said there was nothing they could do they left it at that, as did the dealership. Who shouldn't have.
By this time, the number of people left over is probably quite small.
Now if someone on here gets their missing subwoofer control fixed by a dealer-applied update this theory is dead in the water, but, by the looks of it, nobody has, and my new best mate at Audi HQ doesn't think anyone will.
Yet...

Totally rings true. I do feel that there's loads of niggley issues kicking about, especially with "software" type things which Audi should be addressing.
Tom, just wondering has anyone ever scanned you car with VCDS, the excuse I got was that there were different versions of the B&O.
Mine looks like this:
Part No SW: 8V1 035 035 HW: 8V1 035 035
Component: MU-P-LND-EU 052 0679
When was your car built, Tom?
.
Thanks.Build week was 20th Feb if I remember right.
Thanks.
There's no science to this at the moment, but it fits the suggestion that facelift cars built later than January have got the woofer control where it should have been all along.
.

I think they've fixed it for the 'better' MMI, the one with touch input and flash storage that supports the virtual cockpit (software 0675 and 0893). But, the 'standard' MMI (0191/0192 etc) didn't seem to get the update.
Not usually unless there is a major issue with the system and audi produce a tsb that advises them to do so...Would this be automatically updated on the car the next time it goes in for say a service?
After January but before May? My late April build certainly doesn't have it..
