hi, my rear wiper motor started stopping to low and catching my boot lid and making a horrible noise when it was activated, is there an easy fix to get it to stop making the noise and stopping to low on the boot? before I spend loads on a new motor.

You need to remove the wiper arm and move it up a couple of splines so it misses the body or maybe the wiper is too long in the first place. If it really is doing things that it shouldn't and the boot lock area is wet then a new motor I required.

ok thank you, I've removed the motor and arm because I didn't want to mark my boot lid, I'll try putting it back on and moving the wiper round a few splines as for it wetting the inside of the boot I'm not sure I'll have to make sure it's not leaking thanks for reply.

As you already have the motor off, take the cover plate of the wheelbox and see if it has horrid rusty brown grease and water in there, if it has buy a new one. If it's more than a few years old change it anyway, they cheap enough as in @audismart link

Have to say I wished I knew this a couple of years ago, that goes straight into my watch list, cant beat bosch.

What makes me laugh is peeps spend £45 on a repair kit on a 10 year+ wiper motor .

the motor is the original and the car is a 54 plate so few years old haha, think I'm just gonna change it for a new one like the the look of that Bosch one some linked me to further down the thread.

You did very well if that wiper motor has only just failed and it was on a 54 plate car - it must have been one of the good ones :glee:

Try asking in the Q7 section, maybe someone in there has done it and can confirm.
