Buying my first audi.....

Hi guys/girls

im looking at buying an 07 audi a4 avant manual 2.0 tdi s-line quattro 170ps and have a few questions for all you audi nuts.

is there anything i should be looking out for (common faults)?
Engine+geabox code?
Ive been reading about the BLB engine and was what cars they are fitted to? i dont fancy buying a car with it and all of its problems!

Hi ,

BLB is a 140 hp.

You can check the engine model on the build label which is in the spare wheel bay.

None of the tdi 2.0 are immune to oil pump problems, the later ones are better.

Make sure you test drive as some find the S line a little firm.

Check when the timing belt was last done.

They sometime have poor idles this will be symptomatic of an ageing timing belt or bad adjustment or a bad dpf.

EGR valves can block quite easy to sort. If driven in the north of the country you might want to investigate the rear arches etc for rust. And the bottom trays tend to fall off. And the glove boxes break.

And quattros get through tyres quicker and you have extra diffs to be serviced etc.
