So, my 16 plate A4 272 diesel went in for some recall work, 14k on the clock and also needed some other work doing including 4 new tyres. (2 of them due to alignment issues wearing them unevenly and one with a nail in it, bad luck eh)

Collected my car in a hurry this evening as it was meant to be ready at 1pm and it wasn't ready until 330pm so I was running late, plus they had the car since Tuesday.

I get home after doing a few things for the family and notice all 4 alloys have nicks in them, two of them really bad ones. They went in with no marks on them at all!

I will of course put a complaint in, however wondered how you'd be feeling and what I should expect from the dealer, refurb all 4 at least??

They are the 19 inch v spoke design, cost me £1,200.

Always , always , before tyre changes take pics of clean alloys .

I agree with the above, you've driven away from the garage so proving it is their fault is now an uphill struggle. Largely depends on your relationship with the dealer now.
From experience , it may not be the dealer, my previous car was fitted with new tyres at the dealer, or so I thought, (cheapest quote, surprisingly). However, it was Kwik fit who did the work, they left a receipt in the car

How bad are the nicks? Post some pics of them

To be fair, I had pointed out to them the condition of the car on hand over, no dents, scratches or marks anywhere, even the alloys, the dealer was yeah looks in good condition and just walked away with my paperwork and keys!!

I believe one of their techs did the job on site and will see what they say in the morning, some of the marks are minor but you know how it is, once they're marked, you know they are!!

2 of them are quite bad though :-(

Not good, especially after I had just spend £1,100 with them!!

£1,100 on a car under warranty and not at its first service, are they having a laugh? Having just spent that will count for nothing, the repair to 4 wheels will wipe out their margin on that.
Let us know how you get on and good luck.

At the very least a refurb done by a company of your choice....

Sorry the advice is after the event, but I will never have my tyres changed by a dealer, I always go to a specialist tyre and wheel company (so no, not QuickF**k) where I know they will take care of the wheels. Not only that, such companies tend to be cheaper than dealers (for premium quality/performance tyres).

For those in the area, I recommend Elite in Reading, Berks.

Cheers all, to be fair I would normally use a tyre/wheel specialist, however on this occasion dealer was a fair bit cheaper, now I know why lol.

To add pain to the situation, on a trip this morning, had to duck out the way of an ambulance, you guessed it, kerbed two wheels in the process, talk about ****** unlucky eh?

Let's hope when the dealer comes back Monday with their decision (as they saw the additional kerbing when they inspected the alloys today and know about me ducking out the way of a fast on coming vehicle), they'll look past the latest damage as this happened after they had damaged them, I guess, maybe not so unlucky if the dealer agree to refurb all 4??

Well.. Audi dealers price-match on tyres so it's not likely to be any cheaper. And so long as you take pics of your wheels beforehand (which you'd want to do whoever was doing the tyres), I can't see why you wouldn't use main dealers? Same price as elsewhere and a free valet.

Update, dealer had taken pictures of my alloy pre fitting the tyres so there was no argument at all from them. Apparently on the more expensive alloys, they do double check and sometimes take pics to protect them and their customers. When compared to the post tyre fitting photos I supplied, the after sales manager said it was a no brainer, they were at fault and had to sort them for me.

Bummer is having to wait for a courtesy car as they need the car for a few days to get rid of an annoying A pillar rattle and B pillar rattle whilst alloys also get sorted, ****** courtesy cars are like gold dust and I seem to always have to wait 2-3 weeks which is a tad annoying sometimes.

I'd also mentioned to them that a slight dent/impression had been left on one of my rear doors, can only assume where they pushed the car forward when on the ramp while doing some recall work? They've said they'll look at that too although doubt they'll remove the dent for free.

Gutted having to wait for them although it's only a couple of weeks and hopefully, the alloys should then look like new!!

Sounds like a great result, well done.
