The odd thing is that we are talking about something which is FREE!
Winter tyre cost £0 more than UHP tyres (which the car comes on). They don’t wear any faster. In fact they usually come with 11mm of tread rather than 8mm. There is an upfront cost but it equalises out by the lack of use of the summers.
Even if winters were 0.01% better it would still be worth it.
The only cost is the 2hrs or so a year to swap them over, and perhaps a small fitting and balancing charge £0-40.
