if I use a 2.0 TDI for short journeys what sort of options are out there to negate DPF problems?

some thoughts are DPF kind remap or removable DPF, replace for MOT.

I asked in the A5 section but I think there arnt enough A5 owners doing this sort of mod.

Seems an expensive route to re-install your DPF every time your MOT is due.

If your mainly doing short journeys, have you considered getting a Petrol instead?

Modern diesel car's will force a re-gen if required but best to take it for a 10-15min blast up the motorway every week (depends on amount of short driving journeys you do) to give the DPF a good chancd to heat up and burn out the soot.

I was looking to improve mpg and reliability, as it seems the DPF has one of the largest impacts on economy after lead foot.

I was hoping the dpf was in a position where I can swap it in and out. an A5 I nearly bought seemed to have it in a fairly accessible spot, due to the front to back engine placement.
