Rumour Control......Eh....TT fills that gap...............................Then most of this thread is FULL of conjecture, pcp, pch deals.....or moving shop to other Marquees ...................l am positive the all new A3 WILL BE initially a disappointment to most until the they release the sportier cars,Audi's new design language has been rather disappointing....over the last 4 years, the only model that looks better than it's predecessor is the new A6.....the new A1 actually looks more Korean than it does German, the A4..gives a new meaning to the word bland.....and to a lesser extent so was the new A5 Q5...In the new A1,Q5,A6,A7,A8,Q8....there's not one real exhaust port visible....well i think there's one real exhaust visible on the 200 psi A1= £33K
And the most disappointing thing of all is the deletion of the MMI Dial............dont know how many reviews l have watched that stated the lack of the MMI dial has been mentioned.........BMW and Mercedes still have them...but there's always that "Nice Audi interiors" saving grace...eh....NOT....even that is has taken a hit,my wee mums A1 is far better built than my car...it just has'nt the gadgets mine's has
l suppose all car brands go through peaks and troughs and Audi are in a deep one....all thanks to Dieselgate.....and blame VAG for these new WLTP regs...........Rant over
Ok... a quick poll (I know... its an Audi forum and potentially biased) which of the following would you buy and why?
I’m assuming each car costs about the same by the time I’ve added the necessary options (accepting the Audi needs far more options added than either of the other two):
A) Audi A3 Black Edition 2.0 S-Tronic Quattro with tech pack and B&O
B) VW Golf 2.0 GTI PP DSG, upgraded alloys and Dynaudio.
C) SEAT Lean Cupra 290
Personally, I’m leaning towards the GTI.
A3 - too dull to drive. Already had one for 3 years and fed up looking at the same dash. Not enough kit as standard and options are too expensive. But, nicest interior, best build quality and the most badge kudos.
GTI - great to drive, packed with kit as standard, decent interior. But... ‘just a Golf’.
Cupra - quickest of the three, arguably the nicest looking. Ok interior but not as good quality as the other two. But does it matter?

If I was being sensible I’d consider initial costs and future values, something which the Cupra wouldn’t do as well in as the other two I don’t think.Ok... a quick poll (I know... its an Audi forum and potentially biased) which of the following would you buy and why?

You can buy my GTI when my S3 arrives

Haha. Would go for the PP Gti over 2.0 A3, bit now of S3 in the mix, would have to be that, but then more ££’s
My GTI is the non PP version. I didn’t think I needed an LSD and bigger brakes and have not really had any issues with traction and handling, aren’t all the facelift GTI’s PP as standard now ?
Can’t wait to see how the S3 compares though. Fingers crossed it’s worth the extra cash !

I will probably be changing my current A3 in about 18 months time. By then the new Golf 8 and the new A3 should have been released. My choice would be either a Golf Estate or an A3 depending on which of the new version I prefer.
I have had 2 S3's in a row and i ain't bored with the interiorOk... a quick poll (I know... its an Audi forum and potentially biased) which of the following would you buy and why?

What are the residuals like on a GTI, I priced a GTD up and the 4 year residual was £10k. The problem I find with the Golfs is the upholstery, and when you spec the leather it becomes an expensive very average motor.
The GTD was £125-£140 per month more expensive than the S3 BE Sportback I have on order, I was really surprised if I'm honest.
I agree 100% with Muttley re timing the purchase right, its partly why I ordered a new one.
