VCDS coding: Fog lights as DRLs

I have an '06 S-line Sportback, and tried to code it yesterday to use the fog lights as DRLs. After selecting the appropriate options it said "Code Accepted" but it didn't work.
The only thing I can think of is maybe I don't have the correct controller to do this? I don't think this car has the Light Pack option. It doesn't have auto headlights.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I have found for it to take the code i had to cycle the ignition, and even sometimes close the door and lock it

Weird. Thanks for that. I think I cycled the ignition (not sure precisely what you mean by that). When I went back into the VCDS menus the options were unticked again. Guess I can try the door!

Thanks. Is it necessary to start the engine, or just turn the key to the accessories position?
