Hi

I'm in the process of getting my engine rebuild due to a piston ring failure. (CDL)

I've decided to forge the bottom end

List is as follows

Forged Rods & Pistons

New big end bearings

Cylinder head overhaul

New gaskets

Upgraded Head gasket from aks

Apr main head stud kit

New oil pick up pipe

All new filters genuine

Cambelt waterpump

New pcv (getting rid of the pcv delete)

R8 valve springs from aks

New coil packs

New plugs

Injectors will be tested and replaced if necessary.

Also getting a dsg and Haldex service.

Now my main question
Is there anything else I should do whilst it's all apart

Currently running a tte420 possibly will change go bigger turbo in the future.

Have you diagnosed why the piston rings failed? Could this be related to the standard injectors. RTech insist on RS3 injectors now to minimise any problems.
While it’s in bits I would also have roller conversion for the fuel pump done.

What's a roller conversion for the pump ?
Nd I will also be using the rs3 injectors when I go for a map at r tech after the engine is built

Clutch and flywheel(just seen you have dsg)

metatronics health check and remap if required.

It already has a map from r tech but it was back in 2014 will go for n update map once I've had the engine run in.

Most seem happy just upgrading the valve springs.
Also, whilst it is all apart you should replace the camchain and tensioner.
I suppose the final BHP achieved depends on the quality of the parts you are installing and the eventual turbo used. AKS would give you an idea if the work is being done there.
