one for the people who use a independent for servicing.....if I were to go to a independent for my services would it give audi any grounds to be funny with me in the event of a warranty claim because I’ve not been serviced at Audi ?
I’ve had warranty work done in the past outside of the threshold on the basis I had full main dealer service history. Most main dealer garages will price match. I paid £160 for a full service. I would stick with them. Expensive cars. Don’t scrimp.one for the people who use a independent for servicing.....if I were to go to a independent for my services would it give audi any grounds to be funny with me in the event of a warranty claim because I’ve not been serviced at Audi ?
I don't think anyone is disputing that fact. It's more that you are more likely to receive goodwill outside of warranty if it has been serviced by an Audi main dealer. I have certainly been a beneficiary of this before. As long as genuine parts are used where necessary and the proper oem service checks are carried out, it shouldn't matter who physically did the work. As @Hal Adams said, the EU have made it illegal for dealers to penalise you for going outside their network (so they can't force their extortionate rates on us).

In addition, (and this is all personal preference), I would rather buy a car with an Audi service history than an independent. It smacks of penny pinching on such an expensive car, even though I agree that an independent would probably do a better job. The same applies if I were to see budget tyres.
