Audi A3 - Clutch questions

Recently and quite suddenly my clutch felt heavy on a recent long drive and then a few days later it has felt reasonably lighter again in comparison.

Any thoughts what this could be?

How do I isolate the issue between master and slave clutch cylinders? I don’t have power bleeding tools.
