One ballast is H05 S0001 (which is the broken one i have currently) and the other is H04 S0002 both are oem the second option being cheaper also the second apprently being compatible with 8k0.941.597c (my car) just dont want to buy the wrong one or twice.

Its just a hardware & software version, as long as the 8K0941597C or superseded last letter match up, you'll be fine.

Hi thanks for the response. Got one delivered today but wasn't the same one advertised fuming, may have to use it if i can't return it. Reckon I'll get away with using this one?

I'd need to check etka, but I'm sure C superseded to E, so you should be fine & its a newer version so no fuming necessary.

Thankyou it has been a nightmare only having one HID work

Hi guys, a bit of an old thread I know.. just thought my question is about ballasts. I have an A3 8P 2009 with bixenons and I am wondering if the old ballasts are to blame for a poor ish light beam? My bulbs are brand new both 4800K Philips (£75 each). When the lights come on the beam is very bright for a brief moment then they kinda fade.. is this normal or is it something to blame, in this case the ballasts?

many thanks
