I have been told by a very good car Aircon engineer that SOME car manufacturers have been known NOT to put the full amount of refrigerant in the car AC system due to the cost.
This is from NEW at the factory. They put enough in to make the AC work but car AC systems aren't working properly after 2 or 3 years.
I hope its not true but he seemed pretty sure.
