Gear selection

I thgink I have the not uncommon problem of gear selection on manual box. Can select gears if engine off. With engine running cannot select any. CAn select 1st with engine off then start and will move but unable to select other gears. Done fair bit of reading but none the wiser. Suggestions are slave cylinder, master cylinder of problem inside clutch.
Been suggested bleed clutch, I would if I knew how. Help.

Either the Clutch has failed, the slave cylinder or the DMF has failed.

You can try and replace the master cylinder/slave cylinder, but in my experience with these cars they don't usually fail. I'd budget for a new clutch and DMF assembly.
