Hi all, bought an S3 with a dead clutch, the car came with a brand new blueprint clutch and a solid flywheel with it. Is blueprint a decent clutch brand for standard/stage 1 power and also what should an independent garage charge for replacing the clutch

Never heard of Blueprint clutches... buy an LuK

£150 quid with the coupon....

Clutch swap is best part of a days work... some have been known to do it in 4hrs but I am not sure I could trust them on that as no doubt that would be using air tools to gun the hell out of bolts that simply shouldn't be gunned...

So what is a good price for labour for clutch and flywheel?

No idea tbh... most garages vary so 60-80 quid an hour?... you may find a few specialists that will do fixed prices... some may not warrenty customer supplied parts either so if any part of the clutch fails for any reason then you will have to pay for the remedial work...

Personally if you are not doing it yourself then I would be tempted to ring round for a complete price with the garage supplying the clutch and see how it compares with the labour only approach...

Sorry to hijack this thread.

What would be a decent clutch upgrade to hold the torque of an engine running about 270 lbf-ft?

I have an AGU engine with a solid flywheel and VR6 clutch plate and disc.

It slips on WOT.

Thanks
