Recently my 2017 2.0 TDI seems to be doing a DPF regen more frequently than in the past. Surprisingly it seems to happen most often after a motorway run. I would have thought that a 30 to 40 mile drive on the motorway would have raised the DPF temperature enough to prevent excessive ash accumulation. The car has just over 60k miles so is this just a sign of age or a potential problem developing?
