Hi all.

My power steering hose has burst (corrosion around a fitting).

The part number is 8K2422893CS which is for my right hand drive car (2010 S4 UK RHD).

I'm struggling to find this exact part as a spare. Would anyone be able to find an alternative or updated part number.

The hose is made up of rigid sections and flexible hose sections and snakes down and under to the steering rack. If I could buy other parts and join them I would but can't find any alternative part numbers.

Thanks for any info.

I'm not sure if this helps, it looks like there's quite a few part number variations but for the CAKA I can't see one that follows on to an available option (if there's no price shown against it then clicking the part number link will come back with no product available).

Part number 8K2422893CC is the only one that seems to work and that is for RHD, but could be worth getting it confirmed by AUDI?

Item 8 here: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/audi/RDW/A4Q/636/4/422/422060

Thanks.

I was looking at that page. Unfortunately the diagram is generic.

I found my hose on eBay from Lithuania but it's condition didn't look great.

Looking at the part numbers 8K2 is for RHD and 8K1 is LHD.

The hose on my car has an expansion loop and a flange connection on each end. Some of the parts have threaded connections on one or both ends.

I might try a hose from eBay without the expansion loop to get me going. E.g. 8K2422893CJ and CK have flanges but without the expansion loop.

Looks like there may be a superseded version...

Could be worth a call to Audi or such and see what part number they come back with. I used these guys when buying OEM parts and they are quite good at giving you a part number: https://www.audipartsdirect.co.uk

Thanks for that.

I've messaged audio parts direct, I'll see what they say.

I'll call my local Audi dealer and see what they say but I don't have much faith in main dealers.

Hi, May be worth considering a local hydraulic hose specialist. I work for a company named Pirtek and we regularly replace power steering hoses at our trade counters. Quick google and you should find one local to you. Take the pipe in and see if they can help. If it’s failed on the rubber, often an easy fix. If it’s one of the end fittings and right at the end, it can be more challenging because they can be OEM fixings we sometimes can’t replicate. With enough tube, we normally cut off and either silver solder or nut & olive the tube to a new flexi. Good luck

Pirtek is worth a shout if you don't have any luck elsewhere. We use them all the time for HGV's and heavy plant with very high PSI's.

Cheers. That's a good idea. I thought about that but the closest hose place to me is Hydrasun, they're probably not interested :)

There's a Pirtek not far from me I'll get in touch with them but I'll be away from home for a couple of weeks. Thanks for the heads up, I've never heard of them before.

I'll post back here once I've got a solution.

Just picked up my hose from Pirtek. Great service. I'll get it on my car once the rain stops

Cost about a third of a new hose, luckily the flanged ends and hard piping was good.
