In the recent heavy rain I’ve noticed that the RS3 brakes seem to accumulate a lot of water on the disc, the initial pedal press requires a lot of effort with the feeling of no stopping power before a sudden snatch as they presumably clear the disc & pads of water.

It is not something that I have noticed in other cars. Has anybody else noticed this?

(For clarity this is standing water, motorways, normal speed for conditions)

Noticed it a bit with the ceramics but that’s understandable. If you have your wipers on the car will automatically ‘wipe’ the brakes but if you just hit a puddle without them on it won’t do it, likewise if it’s just mistimed between the wiping phases.
