Replacing MMI Main Unit

Hi, I Have an issue with the headunit in my A3 and need to change it out, as it is losing connection to 3 out of the 4 speakers. The unit itsself is a MMI High Model - (8V0035036 B). Would I need to replace this with an exact model number replica or can i replace it with a different model headunit like 8V0035874A or similar. I appreciate this would impact Navigation and Audi connect features, however I d no not use them and simply want a unit for the DAB and BT audio. I just wanted to confirm it would still fit and work or whether I need an identical replacemnt?

That won't work I think - you are replacing a Harman MMI High Model by an old Panasonic one?... I think that would affect more than just the Navigation and Audi Connect. Whatever you replace it with will also obviously require coding and component protection removal.
