rear centre armrest cupholder jammed

Can someone with the cup holders fitted tell me how to release them? I know it sounds stupid but there is a raised line on each side that when pressed do nothing. I've sort of prised my fingers in the top of it and then it's popped out (the spring is therefore OK) and the cup holders pop up as they should.

Once pushed back in, it locks but then I can't figure out how to open it again. Should I just be pushing it to shut it and pushing it in the same way to open it?

Mines jammed in also.

Might try take armrest apart this weekend.

Fixed mine. It all pops out of the armrest and you can clean and lubricate all the mechanism. Working fine now
