Hi, I am looking to buy an Audi A3.

I have about £7500-£8000 cash to spend and want one with the Sport package & 3 doors. I like the 2.0 TDi a lot but examples in my price range are on about 60-70k miles (minimum) so not sure if I would be better off with a 2.0 FSi instead as they have more like 40-50k miles on the clocks.

I will definately be keeping the car for the next 2 years minimum and want something reliable and not too expensive to run and maintain.

Can you give me some advice of which car I would be better off with (the Diesel or Petrol) and what to watch out for with these models.

Thank you very much for any help.

Rory

Oh and I saw that there was a facelift in 2008, what difference has this actually made?

I sat inside a brand new A3 last week at the dealership and fell in love with the inside! Will a pre-facelift be any different?

Any advice at all?

Going to the dealers tommorow and will test drive both if possible, but good to have an idea before I get there!!
