in 99' the a4 had 150 hp, then in 2000 it went to 170 hp, assuming that im correct with that, after chipping what is the hp of the 99' vs. the hp of the 2000?

and on a second note, do you install the chip like plug in play or do you have to send off something and have it installed and put in by someone else?
my chip i had the software installed by a professional. I have seen plugs that change the ecu, but not sure how those work. I have a 2000 A4 and it was specd at 150hp and wit the chip its about 190hp.
I strongly suggest you do it with a professional! There are too many things to take in mind while chipping the car. Worst case senario, send the ECU or buy a new ECU with the chip included. But when you remove the ECU, you have to take into account the immobilizer (ie car won't start again with the immobilizer code)
