What have you done to your 8V today?

Looking good mate custom decals too !
Thanks! Quite happy with the job...much better than paying audi 300 notes for sure!
If I knew you needed some for the calliper plates I'd have sent you a couple for them as well, not a fan of the ones on eBay because the S3 isn't a great match for Audi's version (might just be me being picky though lol)
Ha I didn't want to be seen as too greedy lol. Also wasn't sure if you could do the two colour style with silver lettering but red logo?

You'll be shocked probably at the price I paid for these haha considering how much they probably cost to make

I'm going to have to compare them with that front badges to see what you're saying about the difference in style...I didn't spot it to be honest
did you get the brake stickers from ebay? mine are looking worn and i need to get some new ones.
Yup! Was £6.99 I believe for 3 pairs (all varying in size)... I used the middle option for size

But I'd definitely speak to our resident vinyl man if he's willing to help out for a small donation as it seems he can maybe more accurately represent the S3 logo?

Haha should have asked, worst I'd say is no lol I can do 2 colour, just stick the red over the silver.

The main thing you're paying for is the persons time rather than the material.

This is the difference between most of the eBay ones and the version I made. Excuse the dodgy photo, took a pic of the laptop screen!

Size would have to be a perfect match though if you're sticking over the originals...As they're not actually removable stickers as far as I could tell

Not sure how they'd managed it but I think it was "in" / on the metal permanently somehow

As per the 3rd picture above, it has to be tap and soldered into the door control module, will see how difficult it will be...

Also, finally the VC frame is available!!! From what I heard, it still needs a little custom metal frame support inside, but it should be perfect cosmetic wise.. Waiting for vendor's final test fit trial before placing my order :)

That's why I didn't spec them. Couldn't justify £300 for someone to walk an extra 6 foot to the box with red calipers in as opposed to the black calipers.

Lol exactly! Would maybe be justifiable if the originals were unpainted...Then you pay for red paint...But they've gone to the effort of painting them black, so to paint them red is no difference haha

You will probably find they have been sequenced into a rack of some kind and the guy fitting them just pulls them out of the space that your car happens to be in. Think of a rack on wheels full of pigeonholes, label the holes 1-20, your car corresponds to number 10 in that rack, a guy somewhere else in the factory fills those pigeonholes 1-20 with whatever is on his sheet and then sends it line side for the guys to pick/fit. The sheet just tells him which pads to put in each # hole. Gone are the days where you'd have a box full of red and black line side and just pick them as and when you need them.

Put my beloved standard S3 wheels on eBay... Hoping to trade up to OEM 19s as winter wheels but god knows what they will say when I come to trade it back...
Hi. Are you wheels still up for sale? If so do you have the link? Thanks

I've seen this type of thread on another forum I'm part of and it always seems fairly popular, allowing us to share ideas and inspiration, or just simply enjoy reading about the progress of eachother's vehicles.

To start the ball rolling, I have changed all four wheels on mine for a spare set of 16s I bought, complete with winter tyres. Mr Weatherman has warned of more snow headed for Glasgow, so they seemed a shrewd investment. £230 delivered for four genuine Audi alloys with Pirelli and Bridgestone tyres was too great a bargain to pass up!

I'm sure a lot of the mods and general tinkering on here will be a little more adventurous than this, particularly from the S3 boys. Over to you!

I've just installed a discreet dash cam to my A3. I looked on-line for ages for a suitable unit to suit my A3 with factory fitted High beam assist

Got a link to this unit, looks interesting? Any problems with heat generation at all?

So far so good. It's been running for around a month now with no problems. The housing does have a few high and low level vents, so I guess it keeps the unit cool enough.

I assumed the business was in the US, though the guy I dealt with was in Belgium, and the part was delivered directly from China. Instructions aren't too great, but it's simple enough to install and set-up. Given that it was the only unit I've found that fits around my HBA forward facing camera, I've happy with the result.

Thanks for sharing, its interesting how they get these cameras in the OEM position. Love it!

I disabled the exhaust flaps and enabled VIM through ODBEleven..

Exhaust flaps now open all the time have given the car a slight change in exhaust note; for the better.

Well from where we started off, it's over 3hrs by train with changes and wait times. Was only 1h 48m I think to drive there at a steady 70mph.
