They are closed but you can open them by putting it in such a mode that does so.

No it's a 'cold start' that's programmed into the ECU to heat the cat up I believe. It revs higher also.

RS3 now available to order again from UK dealers. One thing I noticed now is a carbon black will set you back £60k...and you can now spec pan roof on that trim whereas you couldn't before.
