Hello, last week a woman at my works had her heater "explode" while she was driving home. The force was strong enough to blow off the trim on the passengers side footwell. Has anyone heard of this happening before? Her car is a 2012 Tdi.

Not heard of that but I know there are a lot of A1's with cold air flap errors that have auto climate control fitted, which is also the same for the Polo's with that option.
My 2012 2.0 Tdi has the said error which can be seen using VCDS
