garage woes

hi all
I was just wondering/hoping for sum recommendation's for a good garage to send my car to
im based on the Lancashire Yorkshire border and don't mind traveling reasonable distance's any recommendations would be much appreciated

im thinking the car needs full new suspension service and a new map as the old 1 from awesome gti doesn't seem just rite to me

Not sure exaclty where you are but Statllers in Sheffield might be worth contacting. Superb depth of knowledge across as VAG cars. Friend of mine with an S4 V6T just had a massive amount of work done there and was very impressed.

He mapped my car and has done many others off the forum,. He is also a forum sponsor.
What car do have and what is it running ATM. ?

Another recommendation for unicorn im hearing good things about them! Should i take mine there? Im just trying to get as much info/advice before i take the plunge, hope you dont mind me jumping in on the post thanks

Rick is a bit of a genius when it comes to mapping cars, writes all his own maps, so if it needs tweaking he's on the lap top and it's done in seconds. Very experienced, very knowledgeable and he will do his best to get out of the car what you want.

thanks for the recommendation's I have a a3 2.0 tdi Quattro its had dpf delete and egr delete its also had a new turbo,ecu,cylinder head the list goes on so I thought it mite be time to try somewhere else has anyone had any experience with darkside developments??

Would a health be carried out prior to mapping in your experience? Thanks

Rick would do a full check of the car before mapping it to make sure all is good. There is no point trying to map a car with pre existing conditions . If there is a problem with boost control, fuelling or anything else it really needs sorting before mapping the car.
Darkside have made a name for themselves tuning diesels, thats all they do. They seem to be in demand and are obviously making some money out of it as they have just moved to a new purpose built facility. As to whether you would get a better tune going there I am not sure . A lot of there cars seem to subscribe to the school of thought of no smoke no poke. One of the things I like about my car is it doesn't smoke, just a light grey haze sometimes.

£300 for a smokey map from darkside , i would avoid them . most ppl are young dumb and financed by bank of mum and dad and have no clue to start with .
there's alot better tuners out there .
