Hi all

I am just in the process of buying a 2015 plate A4 Avant from Southampton Audi which is supposed to be a 177. The trouble is the reg plate always seems to bring up that it is a 150 with insurers etc. Is there somewhere I can get a definitive confirmation of it?

All help gratefully received

Phil

The engine code will tell you what the engine power is.
If you are buying it from a main dealer then they should know.
The engine code is on the build sticker which is in the vechicle servicing book.

on the sticker above the engine code is CBAB the figures at the botom relate to fuel economy figures and CO2.

Quite often the details ae incortrect from the number plates

All you then need to is note the output in kilowatts and use a converter to get the output in PS (which is almost but not quite the same as BHP). :)

I have a 2010 2.0tdi and had the same issue. Was advertised as the 140bhp version and ending up buying it. Started looking at remaps and the Reg number was saying it was the 120bhp version. Eventually bit the bullet and booked it in. Rolling road before map revealed it was the 140 bhp after all.
