Hi everyone, not been having much luck with my 2012 s3 8p recently. When car has been parked over night and it is started cold I notice a knocking/rattle noise which disappears when the clutch is pressed in. Then after around 1 to 2 mins the noise disappears even when clutch is engaged. Is this the dmf or could it be crankshaft end float? Read a thread earlier and it ended in a needing a new engine! Thanks for your help

I’d suspect it’s DMF failure before the crankshaft. Where are you located? You need to get it to a specialist to diagnose (not an Audi dealer).
Hi bud thanks for the reply, I'm in Bradford Yorkshire any suggestions where to go? If it was crankshaft I'd assume the sound would remain or get worse when pressing clutch in? Do you not think?
