Extended Ambient Light Pack - Gone?

Dear god. I enquired about an Edition 1 today that was advertised by a garage that turned out to not be coming in until October, they sent me the spec sheet and extended ambient lighting was greyed out and.... illuminated vanity mirror in its place
so.yes im.asking you what is illuminating in your mirrors as mine are dont.have any light haha
I picked up my new edition one 3 weeks ago it has got extended ambient lighting fitted , I didn’t order until 1st feb this year
I’d recommend giving Andy at Audi Upgrades (https://www.audiupgrades.co.uk/) a call, he is an Audi approved specialist and he be able to tell you what the art of the possible is.
He’s done some upgrades on my S5 including extending the ambient lighting after Audi dropped a couple of bits from the package. His work is first class and he is based in Haywards Heath
Seems no rhyme or reason to who gets it / who doesn’t. I ordered an Edition 1 on 15 December with it spec’d, picked up this week and it has been removed and just got a vanity mirror lights - interestingly they still installed LED light strips in 2 of 4 doors

I had my car 2 weeks ago 45 TFSIe...........literally pitch back inside..........no ambient pack, but no lights at all....nothing in door cards, under the doors, in the foot well, in the usb area.............blackline literally!!

Just to add to this thread I am due to receive my car in the next few weeks and ambient lighting pack was removed. I had money taken off my car to compensate for this but still disappointed as I really wanted that feature. I have ordered the 35TFSI S line A3
Just had exactly same, ordered S-Line competition in April 21 with ambient lighting, after number of pushed back delivery dates it arrived last week. Went into the dealer to collect and was informed that my ambient lighting wasn’t installed at the factory. After a bit of a conversation with the dealership they said I could cancel my order for the car as they’d be able to sell it no problem.
i took the car thinking it’s only a couple of lights, how wrong was I! Dark as hell in the car and can’t see anything after dusk, had one single dim interior light near the mirror for the entire car, can’t find anything in the centre console can’t find the door handles to get out, can’t see anything in the door pockets, can’t see anything in the footwell. we have ended up putting torches in the car it is that bad! I hade also spec’d the Audi rings projecting lights, but can’t have those as they are exchanged for the puddle lights which are part of the ambient lighting package and so they have been removed too.
Now maybe I have just been spoilt as I can”t remember a car with such basic lighting inside, I have a 53 plate focus ST170 that I’ve had from new (18th birthday present) and the lighting in that is far superior.
it could be I’ve been spoilt, and it is perhaps compounded by the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and there Is no street lighting around here, but for me this has made me start looking to replace the car after only 1 week.
Having looked into it and speaking with Audi (not the dealer), it is impossible to retrofit the lighting package.

That’s not just a missing the extended light pack; it’s missing the standard S-Line interior lights. I definitely have upper door card lights, vanity mirror lights and dual map lights which are more than bright enough to provide enough light in the front of the car not to require any torches (all LED in the ‘21 S-Line spec) . And I’m pretty sure (though not 100% certain) that there are footwell lights, a glove box light and a rear overhead passenger light too (I’m least certain about the last one as I don’t sit in the back of the car at night).

I was disappointed there wasn't even a plain puddle light on my 2022 S3 8Y. I only have myself to blame. I had seen these on an S3 at the dealer's. In my excitement, I stupidly assumed they were standard at this spec level. Going off on a tangent, It feels as if there's a blanking plate in the bottom of the door pan ready to knock out for a retrofit. A pair of LEDs are only £14(ish) on ebay. Does anyone know if there is a spare connector behind the door panel? I did find this online

I do recall reading that! Unfortunately not in mine. Having waited six months I was so pleased to get the car I didn't look in the glove box. I need to ring the dealer! Audi seems to have lost their way recently. I should have made notes to take to the handover. It seems to me some dealers are making the handover a fancy process that literally flatters to deceive.
When I ordered my S3 Vorsprung, the standard S3 came with "Audi Beam - uses LEDs to project the Audi logo onto the ground as you exit your S3", and the Vorsprung came with "Audi Beam - uses LEDs to project 'Vorsprung' onto the ground as you exit your S3".
I ordered mine in the first week of January. They may have changed the spec since then. But they've also been cutting things. As far as I can make out, they've been trying hard not to cut anything from the Vorsprung trims, so it's possible the "basic" S3 has lost things that the Vorsprung has kept.

Interestingly, the standard S3 also came with "LED Interior Lighting Pack" which included "Entry lights on the underside of the front doors", while the S3 Vorsprung came with "Extended Ambient Light Pack" which included (in addition to the LED Interior Lighting Pack) "Entry lights on the underside of the rear doors".
How these relate to Audi Beam, or whether they're the same thing stated different, I don't know.
Either way, mine is now in the country so I should have it in a week or two. I've not been notified of any spec changes since I ordered, so I'm expecting puddle lights on all 4 doors.

Hi, Can you retrofit the ambient lighting as I’m expecting my Audi A3 to arrive at march and I wasn’t able to option the ambient lighting

And you’d never see a return on the outlay. I guess it’s down to how much you want it.
Audi Beam LED Entry Lights replace the existing puddle lights in the door and project different logos onto the ground when the door is open.
Your Vorsprung should come with Vorsprung Audi Beam units for the front doors and basic puddle lights for the back doors. I swapped all four on my wife’s S3 for Audi Rings beam units which I thought looked better and brighter than the Vorsprung ones.
Extended Ambient Lighting covers the rest of the interior lighting where you can change the colour of the surface and contour lighting as well as turn the front and rear footwell lighting off from the mmi control screen. None footwell lighting can’t be changed from white
I collected my S3 Vorsprung a few days back and it has puddle lights all around. They're rubbish. The car info in myAudi says Audi Beam should be there, so I've asked the dealer what happened. I know they're fitted at the dealer, so I suspect they just forgot them.

The car had only one interior light, no lights in the footwells or puddle lights, none of the interior door handles were illuminated nore was the centre console storage behind the gear selector.
Maybe I’ve just been spoilt as I can’t remember the last time I had a car that felt so basic, yet was very expensive, and I was really disappointed with the interior lights and lighting in general on this car.
I was so disappointed with the car, after 4 weeks of having it i part exchanged or with 234 miles on the clock for a Mercedes (I managed to drop on a cancelled order) and vowed never to buy another Audi in my lifetime. Problem solved, and I’m really happy with my car now .

Just realised that my photo shows more of the console (too late to edit the post).
Yer, was from local Audi Dealer. It’s a shame really because I think I’d have got on with the car really well had it been what I was expecting.
For me it was just missing the details to give it that modern luxury feel, felt fairly basic after cars I’ve had previously and a big backward step from the Golf GTE I traded in.
I think what did it for me tho was a fried came round to show me his Hyundai that had cost him £15k less than my A3 and it had far more spec on it, and then the deal was sealed when my cousin turned up in his Puma ST and it just blew the A3 out of the water in terms of feel and refinement.
