New to 8Y

Having just upgraded from a 14 plate 8V to a nearly new 8Y , I am trying to come to terms with a welter of new (to me) technology.
I have set myself the target of learning one new thing every day, more would be good! The current thing is controlling the sat nav voice independently of the radio volume when both are in use. I presume phone calls in or out take priority.
Can anyone please help?

While the SatNav voice is 'talking', adjust the volume control on the steering wheel. A volume slider for 'alerts' will appear on the MMI screen as you adjust it. It won't affect the radio volume.
