Hello everyone,

Sorry for my English.

Here's my problem: I wanted to add electric folding mirrors to my 2013 Audi A3 8V Sportback.

After checking the door ECU, I had Lowline ones (5Q0959393A (driver) and 5Q0959392A (passenger)), so I bought used Highline ECU (5Q0959593A and 5Q0959592A) to be able to add the option.
I have recovered the VCDS coding of my original ECUs to put them in the new ECUs and activate the option.

Unfortunately this does not work, now I have my window control is reversed (I have to pull the button to open the window and push to close, only the driver's window), I also have the driver's mirror window adjustment reversed, if I go left the mirroir goes right ....
And the mirrors don't close together: if one is open, the other is closed...

I don't know how to solve this problem. Do you have any ideas?

I have an ODIS-E from Aliexpress and I managed to flash the new ECU but that didn't solve the problem.

But now I've got another problem, I've put my old original ECUs back in and I don't know if it's because I've been unplugging/replugging them and they've deteriorated, but now it's my rear window that has the controls reversed ... and sometimes it doesn't want to close all the way. :culpability:

If anyone can help me, I don't know what to do!
Thank you so much!

Merci :)

Need to fit new / replacement door modules that support your retrofit, parameterise them and then code them as per original + needed coding for your retrofit. Suggest seeking out a specialist who knows what he is doing.

That happened to me too - the door modules require parameters for your car (you need VCP to do this) or purchase door modules that have come from the same make/model as your car...

Thanks for your reply.

You need to find a garage that does coding, but I've contacted several, and it's not easy to find someone who knows what they're doing around here .... isn't it possible to do it remotely?
You have to do it with ODIS and an Audi account, don't you?

Ah, I don't know VCP, I thought it was with ODIS.
I've just checked and it's true that it doesn't say which vehicle the module comes from...
I've just had a look and for an Audi A3, it costs around 20€, so maybe I'll buy it and give it a try...

You can use ODIS-E to flash the parameter file but finding the XML parameter file online can be difficult, it requires someone to post it for your specific model. VCP has a huge library of parameter files across hundreds of ECUs and models, easy to find there though requires a legitimate copy of VCP to access this library. Though Audi A3 8V highline door ECUs are so cheap in eBay, as low as €15 each so probably just easier to buy two that have actually come from an Audi A3 8V.

Thanks for your feedback, I've just found a module that comes from an A3 8V PFL like mine which had the original folding mirrors (the only difference is that it's a petrol, but I don't think that changes much for the door module, I hope lol).
I'll be back to confirm that was the problem!

But what puzzles me is that my original module is no longer working properly, even though I'd already disconnected it several times without any problem....

Hello,

I'm back with some news.
I have received the module and it works perfectly, my front windows are no longer reversed and my mirrors open and close correctly automatically. That was it, you need an Audi A3 ECU!

On the other hand, I still have the problem of the rear windows...
The rear window on the driver's side works normally, but I can't calibrate it, so it doesn't close automatically.
For the rear window on the passenger side it's even worse, the controls are reversed, on the driver's buttons and on the rear door button it's the same. I still have the same problem as with my original ECUs ... Does anyone know what it could be?

That is really odd about the back window being reversed, even with the original ECUs, especially as it's only one of them - did you change any of the coding on the back door ECUs? or maybe some damaged was caused while plugging/unplugging the ECUs - this is an odd one. You also mentioned you did some flashing on the original ECUs, maybe something went wrong there, it's hard to tell. You might need to replace them also!...

Little news,
While I was poking around on the VCDS ECU, I found the solution to the reversed controls on my passenger-side rear window...
On VCDS, in the passenger door ECU (for information I don't have an ECU in the rear doors), in the coding, you had to select the window regulator motor as below:

1708597923893

Then, in the long coding wizard, you must to uncheck Bit 4 "Counter Clockwise Rotation for Windows Regulator".

1708598193644

After a basic adjustment of the window, everything's back to normal! And my mirrors too...

Now I still have the problem of the rear window on the driver's side, it works normally, the buttons are not reversed but you have to hold the button to lower or raise the window, it does not do this automatically, and it is impossible to make a basic adjustment on this window, I get an error message whereas I was able to do it without any problem on the other side

1708598551585

ERROR: Request outside interval

I've also tried adapting manually by pressing up then down etc. but it doesn't work.

I wanted to thank you for your help @q2us3r
