Thanks mate, I am. Merely 306bhp compared to you lot, but plenty for me, and a little trip booked to Paul @ PCW to give a bit of a decent exhaust note .

Thread will be incoming

Yes, same motor as M135i and the GP3, but unlike GP3 also 4WD.

White silver mate…finally got away from black. Told Mrs this time no f*cking chance going black

After several communications with Audi finance via the sales guy my RS3 order has been placed
Your wearing 8Y RS3 rose tinted glasses on atm You call piano black plastic, touchscreen, inferior internal plastics, muted engine/exhaust sound,£6k price increase progress...its you/potential buyers thinking it is and accepting crumbs on the options list and what stuck on screen?
You haven't even been in a 8Y RS3
I looked at a white S3 saloon today and l am still not convinced by its overall design it looks ungainly from some angles 3/4 view/side on frontal/rear on yeah it looks more aggressive than a 8V but the 8v fl overall is a better looking car always will especially the Saloon
I'll accept the 8y sportback is a good looking car
Your just trying to justify not getting an RS3 - you know you want one really!
:friendly wink:
- or why else would you read the RS3 posts.
jassyo you found your rose tinted glass mate?:whip:

Told you, you wanted one, just in denial - glad you seen the light, LOL

yeah I’m not sure what I’d go for if Daytona wasn’t available. I know it’s a main stream colour & common but thankfully I’ve never had it on a car so it’s new to me. Why they’ve dropped sepang & floret (& many others) is very frustrating, especially if Audi are intentionally putting out a bland limited choice to encourage people to pay for exclusive. But then again they quote an extra 6 months which will put many punters off, so I’m not sure what the logic is ?

Lights do make a big difference for sure & I’ll bet whoever’s bought them will be very happy. The front & rear lights on the new RS3 do look pretty cool too don’t they.

No rose tinted glasses on....mate put it this way if the 8y RS3 doesn't live up to my expectations it''ll be sold/flipped asap....TTS 320ps is the best Audi ive driven so far......very dodgem like....reminded me of my Honda FN2 ctr ...and the TT is a fast car...pushing out about 335 bhp only 1440kg could'nt refuse getting £51k for it though so the RS3 has a bit to live up too as far the drive is concerned....car is too far away to even start to get excited about....av always been a person who only gets excited about new cars/holidays when its staring me right in the coupon.... but l am happy and releaved that l have eventually got one ordered after so many near misses with PFL and Fl RS3's

Audi finance are a bunch of #### they make as much sense as covid restrictions asking me stupid questions that already had been answered over and over again even the sales guy was apologising for the hassle...

The blackened bezels in the front headlights look great as does the modular graphic RS3 signature on the DRL's as for the rear light led modules they actually look a little lost in comparison to the size of the rear tail light enclosures and the overall width of the car.....the oleds on the TT where the exact same as your lg oled telly uniformed brightness from any angle very bright as well...and unique even had TT on one of the oled plates....ah well onwards and upwards as the say...no car to pay a long time as well so...l may go with the Mrs to Turkey and get ma Tom Cruise teeth...lol

Had this ’Update’ on my order today
At this time, the manufacturer is still unable to advise when an exact build completion date can be secured I’m afraid and so we are still without an estimated delivery time frame.
Ordered 11th August!

If there’s at least one additional month left then you will. I.e. it isn’t due until December at least. You lose the difference for the current month with the new rules.

If it’s within the first year you won’t get anything back I don’t think. I’m pretty sure that’s an ‘on the road’ cost that’s non-refundable but I could be wrong.

He will get a portion of the road tax element back but not the initial on the road cost for new registrations

So if you buy a new car and the dealership pays for the initial tax (you pay for it in the cost of the car, but they’re the ones that actually pay the first payment to HMRC) then you’ll still get some of that back? I thought it was just done because then the ‘first year’ road tax would be less for the government when the next owner taxes it at the normal rate right? Just don’t imagine HMRC missing out on money is all.

Edit: Looks like they’ll give you a refund, but not actually the amount you paid…

“The amount you get back will be based on whichever is lower of:

- the first tax payment when you registered the vehicle

- the rate for the second tax payment onwards.”

I wonder if that is just a proportion of the £155 or also the over £40k added £335 ?

So if normal annual road tax is say £155, you would get that portion back. HMRC aren’t losing out as next sucker pays them R/T when they take ownership. Equally if part way through month you lose that hit and only paid for full months.

If over £40k, would also be that portion not just the £90

If that’s what he’d paid before, but because it’s a first registration I don’t know? That only applies from the second taxing of the vehicle so in my head it could be either!

Both, as still road tax. Example…renewed my M40i road tax in July last year and then sold in October, got a refund of £350 odd (can’t remember exact figure) but you definitely get the over £40k portion back

I get that, but he hasn't yet renewed for the first time since the car was first taxed so I don't know how it would work exactly. That's why I'm assuming he'll only get the basic back since that's what the new owner will be paying until the car is a year old and then pay both since the £40k premium only applies from year two onwards?
