RS3 8Y General Discussion Thread.

Really feels like they didn't intend to provide any after order care and updates the so called "product specialist" that I ordered my Vorsprung through is over at the factory for some demonstration and the staff left at the local seem to be clueless about anything trying to get updates on my BW is a joke

The ever amazing Slough Audi .... i know que the Slough jokes lol
Slough........... :scared2:

My second R8 came from them, when I went to pick the car up they said 'good news' the front tyres were below their limit and had been replaced with Pirelli's, even though the rears were Continentals..............''We have spoked to Audi and they say it's ok''

The ride was pretty firm on the way home so I checked the front pressures the following day, the tyre company had scratched a wheel, had it repaired on the car and painted the brake caliper silver through the wheel spokes just for good measure. (I had crawled all over the car prior to buying it, no kerb maks at all)

As well as that the Pirelli tyre was a P Zero Rosso...........................which is NOT approved for R8 (you couldnt make this up could you?)

After a phone call to Audi Customer services a new wheel arrived and Slough paid for 2 correct tyres, I had to clean the paint off the brake caliper

I sold the wheel and the 2 tyres on ebay :)

You would think that looking for a two year old R8 would be quite easy? I kid you not, it's no different than looking for any other second hand car and Audi are no better than any back street garage doing similar

I believe everyone is forming an orderly queue out side the Tesla garage

Seriously though there are close to 100 RS3 for sale on AT now, that must be a high % of what is in the UK?

I cant fault them that much they did make me a really good offer on my S3 on trade in but that nicety only stretches to the two guys that actually know their products and aren't just trying to sell you the car. The rest of the staff just couldn't care less or they don't know enough about their products to give you any advice. Hopefully once they get back from Germany I will get normal updates and responses.

Wow that's how they deal with an R8 Jesus makes me feel like when I get my car I should get my detailer to examine it in the showroom thoroughly for any defects.

Sounds like you came out alright though to have sold the wheel and tyres :thumbs up:

As much as I think the model 3 is a great car in its own right (for an EV) I am seeing a LOT of them now on the roads and even the performance model with its bigger wheels and tail spoiler just looks so bland. If you want an EV and aren't bothered about having a common generic car, then I still think the model 3 is the one to have, but that feeling you get owning a 'special' car would be totally devoid IMO.

Yes, I went over the car with a fine toothcomb on my initial visit, when I picked the car up oddly it was parked nose in (wheel damage was to drivers side) so damage was hidden, salesman said he had come in specially on his day off to hand the car over and was in a hurry, I don’t know whether that was part of the plan or just my conspiracy theory.

The dealership 'eventually' got the local tyre firm to admit to the damage to the wheel and the repair

Whenever I take my car in now I insist on the (normally the service receptionist) looking around my car and agreeing there are zero marks on it...............this was after VW damaged one on my Golf R wheels, denying any responsibilty at all...........................until the car washer fessed up to his power washer running into it, even though when they say 'anything else about the car Sir while we have it?'

Yes DO NOT WASH OR VACUUM MY CAR, I dont understand what part of that is difficult to understand

Playing devils advocate here......................

I spoke with some length with Crewe Audi, and what are they supposed to do when RS Cars order 6 RS3's on order opening day?

Dont forget the like of RS probably also take any 'Suspicious' (As in slight modified or higher mileage maybe?) that Audi do not want to place on their forecourt, they will have a good relationship with the likes of these dealers and are your dealer is likely to place their orders before Joey Publics

Spinstorms car order was a full month before mine and a lot of others on here and yet hes down for August, mines due for collection tomorrow :redrs4:

I genuinely would love to meet someone who would pay that for one rather than just wait like id love to know the logic behind that decision

That sounds phishy I would have suspected the same thing mate if i was in your shoes, I wonder if they strong armed the tyre shop to admit fault or they cut further business but if they are repairing alloys while on the car they should have been cut for that alone.

I'm the same I bought one of those signs from amazon that stick to my rear view mirror that say "this car has been detailed DO NOT WASH"

O/T but I had a garage damage my car trying to reverse it out of their tight entrance / exit. They repaired it without asking me and just mentioned it in passing when I collected the car! Not the RS3 thankfully.

More likely missed over by the dealer?

I wonder if a call to Audi UK would shed any light on to why?

If he went to Audi UK and asked why is my order number xxxx further down the line to order number (from here) maybe Audi could say 'thats because we received it 3 weeks after that one?.........go and talk to your dealer..........

Glad you’ve secured one - when you collecting and what is spec / colour etc ?

So, general discussion thread here.
Not a good week for the VW group
The Felicty Ace that caught fire with 4000 cars $400,000,000 dollars of Bugatti/Bentley/Lambo/Audi/VW on board has sunk.
The same ship on it’s return also brings back Audi Q5 from Mexico.
Production of A4 and A5 models at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant will be suspended March 7-11. In Neckarsulm, production of A6, and A7 models will be suspended March 7-18.
Further output cuts are likely to follow, the company said in emailed comments.
